Feels like a dad throwing out a teenager that doesn’t want to grow up.
^^ When that teenager is in his mid twenties and sits at home watching movies and playing videogames all day!
I’m starting to think that Danny didn’t really hear them.
On the one hand, part of me wants to feel sorry for this dude, knowing that he ends up in Gray Grove and looking practically feral.
But on the other hand, I’ve known a lot of mooches in my life. And he is a grade-A, top notch, completely douchey and unrepentant mooch.
Fuck that dude.
James’s operation is funded by people he’s converted into zombies. Being of the rotting persuasion makes you rather less employable.
That actually makes perfect sense, but I don’t think that’s what the author wanted to express two pages back. That page shows a legit, remorseless, mooching potato couch which is probably not even trying. He didn’t seem like it on the pages before that, however, feels like he just got used to it, took it for granted.
Who knows, perhaps you’re right and it was a bit of a too-harsh call from James that he still felt had no choice but to do, because at the end of the day, the money isn’t just spawning out of nowhere.
What’s important is that I think this will haunt James later on, regardless.
